Oh, the Olympics; what an adventure. We went to see Women's USA hockey play Germany, but since the game was at 7 pm and we were in Torino all day, it was really a whole lot about the experience of being in the Olympic city and seeing/doing as much cool stuff as we could. Oddly enough, things don't really open until 10 am, and you can't actually enter your venue until 2 hours before hand. Thus, we set off to find the Olympic Village and some sort of Olympic activities. This was also a quest to find the big red bridge- an architectural symbol of Torino 2006 Olympics. these are the fabulous pics of the adventure:

After finding the Olympic Village and finding out that ordinary people like us are not allowed in, we headed to the Sponsor Village where there were things we could do. But who can figure out how to get there?? They had very cool temporary architecture- which I kindly have not included- past Olympic torches on display (COOL!), and the mascots!!

Mmmm... For lunch, after hitting up "the big store" of all the official olympic gear, we (and by we I mean Andrew) found this great little, thoroughly Italian restaurant.

These are all the pics we took once we got inside our venue, which included the hockey rink and 'stadio.' AND the Olympic torch!

Oooooh, the stadium!! This is the view from our seats, both in front of and behind us. Yep, those two rows (of really cool seats I might add) were what was behind us.
Check out our seats. Anna, Amy, Mallory and Kevin all sat together, and Cavin, Andrew and I got seats together. Andrew is the kid with the video camera plastered to his face.

These are a couple of action shots of the game, with USA whooping Germany, even playing down two players at times. The scoreboard shows the final 5-0 score.
