We all met up at the Trevi Fountain once we got to Rome

After that we hit up a few architecturally important churches near by. These are pictures of Quattro Fontane.

After finding our hotel and checking in, we went out to find the Colosseum. Unbelievable. The triumphal arch at the Colosseum is the Arch of Constantine.

From the Colosseum, we headed into the Roman Forum. The first triumphal arch here is the Arch of Titus, and across the forum, the other arch is the Arch of Semptus Severus.

We wandered through the ruins of the Roman Forum and made our way to the Campidoglio, which we actually entered from behind, and I insisted on going down the stairs and entering from the front to get the full Campidoglio experience.

Where's Waldo? Can you find Cavin in the picture below?? This is Alicia and I sitting against the stairs at the Campidoglio.

Here are some fantastic night shots from the Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain, and our amazing 2-star hotel.

Sunday morning we saw Santa Maria Maggiore while waiting for Andrew and his sister, Brenna to arrive.

While on the steps of Santa Maria Maggiore, Loren and I decided to assess our loot from the hotel breakfast, and being architecture majors, we had to see how many different things we could make from our cheese wedges...

Next it's to the Vatican and St Peter's Basilica!

I saw the Pope!! He speaks at noon on Sundays, so I conveniently planned to be there. It was really cool- I saw the Pope!

Below is the Tiber River and Castel Sant'Angelo which we didn't' have enough time to go into.

This is the Piazza Navona- we passed through it on the way to the Pantheon.

The Pantheon!!!

After the Panthean it was lunch time. We found a great little restaurant to sit outside at and get some of supposedly Italy's best pizza in Rome.

Oh yeah, that's my super cool toy I bought in Rome. He's moldable.
For the rest of the afternoon we went back to the Forum and the Colosseum with Andrew and Brenna who had missed out the day before, and just wandered around until our train home at 5:15.

Train ride home.

And to wrap it up: Alicia will do anything to get a good picture....
