Fiesole is a small Etruscan town a 25 minute bus ride from Florence, and the most amazing place I have ever been.

These are pictures from the Monastery of San Francesco in Fiesole. As Alicia and Andrew are demonstrating, the monks cells were all very small, and inspiring. The inside of the church is unbelievable, but I feel sacrilegious photographing the insides of churches. Some things you just have to experience!

This is the Duomo of Fiesole and the Piazza Mino di Fiesole. The only thing missing from this staircase is the von Trapp family.

The Cemetery of Fiesole is the most peaceful, beautiful cemetery.

We ate lunch al fresco at a nice little restorante in the center of Fiesole. Mmm pizza!

This is the Roman amphitheatre and bath ruins being excavated.

Watching the sunset over Firenze from the Franciscan Missionary monastery.
