Reservations: By Mail: download the booking/reservation form, provide the requested information, and mail it along with your check or credit card information for $500 per person to: West Highland Adventures, Ltd.; 6783 Thorneton Road; Easton, MD 21601.
By Phone: Call our office at 410-745-6852 to reserve your trip.
Please make checks payable to West Highland Adventures, Ltd. If you prefer to pay with Visa or Mastercard, please send your card type, number, and expiry date. We will provide a charge slip as evidence of your payment if you request. If you would prefer to send your credit card information via e-mail to paul@westhighlandadventures.com, please do so in two messages, breaking the number wherever you choose. We will confirm your space upon receipt of the down payment.
Along with the confirmation of your space, we will send you a password which will allow access to our private website. Here you will find the following items regarding your tour: the itinerary, packing tips, training tips, information on breaking in your boots if they are new, and a glossary of the Scottish language. These items may be downloaded and printed, as you desire, for your trip file.
Final payment of the balance due is required 30 days before the start of your trip.
Cancellations and Refunds: If you must cancel your trip, we must be notified in writing or via e-mail. Your deposit is fully refundable if you cancel up to 60 days before your walk. From 60 days to 30 days, there is a cancellation fee of $250. Cancellation with less than 30 days notice will result in forfeiture of your deposit.
We are not in the insurance business. If you feel trip cancellation insurance is a wise investment, we suggest that you talk to your travel agent, or general insurance representative.
Cancellation by Us: If we are forced to cancel a trip due to inadequate participation or conditions beyond our control, our liability is limited solely to the cost of the land arrangements in Scotland as outlined in the itinerary. West Highland Adventures, Ltd. or its owner(s) cannot be held responsible for financial loss due to the imposition of a charge by airline carriers or totally nonrefundable tickets.
It is our sincerest desire to operate all trips offered on this website, consequently, cancellations by us are a matter of last resort. If we must cancel a trip, we will refund all payments made to us or we will transfer your payments to an alternate trip, if you so desire.
Passport: A valid passport is required for entry into the United Kingdom. All clients are responsible for obtaining their own passport.
Medical Requirements: Good physical and mental health are essential for the enjoyment of these active, outdoor trips. By forwarding a Reservation Form, the participant certifies that he/she does not have any physical or other condition or disability that would create hazard for himself/herself or other participants.
It is essential that any participant with a medical condition requiring treatment, or which may be affected by vigorous outdoor activity, altitude, heat, cold, or dampness notify West Highland Adventures, Ltd. in advance of travel.
There are two health care systems in the United Kingdom. The national healthcare system is public, available to all residents and non-residents, and much less expensive than private care. The national healthcare system does not have reciprocity with the United States as we do not have a similar system. If used, there will be fees. Any healthcare fees incurred shall be the responsibility of the participant. West Highland Adventures, Ltd. or its owner(s) cannot be held responsible for health care fees incurred by participants while participating in any of our adventures, It is the responsibility of participants who have medical insurance coverage to determine, in advance of participation, which system is available to them under their healthcare insurance coverage.
On all guided trips, the judgment of the guides shall be the ultimate determination of an individual's fitness to embark on or continue participation in a trip.
Limitations of Liability: West Highland Adventures, Ltd. hereby gives notice that all travel services provided in the United Kingdom, or any other country, in connection with its itineraries are rendered by local service providers and suppliers of travel services. Therefore, it is understood, that in arranging tours, guides, meals, accommodations, and transportation, West Highland Adventures, Ltd. acts only as an agent in providing services.
West Highland Adventures, Ltd. and its owner(s) act only as agents for the participant in regard to local travel, whether by railroad, motor coach, private or public automobile, boat, aircraft or any other conveyance, and assume no liability for injury, damage, loss, accident, delay, irregularity or additional costs resulting directly or indirectly from any of the following causes: weather, failure of any means of transportation to comply with schedules, quarantine, strikes, civil disturbances, theft, government regulations, or changes in transport and lodging beyond the reasonable control of West Highland Adventures, Ltd.
West Highland Adventures, Ltd. and its owner(s) cannot be held liable for any delay, mishap, inconvenience, expense, irregularity or damage through the negligence or default of any company or individual engaged in providing these services. We reserve the right to change any itinerary at any time when it is deemed advisable for the safety of the group or to comply with government restrictions or regulations.
West Highland Adventures, Ltd. also reserves the right to cancel any trip prior to departure upon the refund of all payments received, which shall release West Highland Adventures, Ltd. and its owner(s) from any further liability.
