Content That Earns Its Place in Search
The Situation
A leading aftermarket powersports parts retailer had a content opportunity they weren't fully using. Their Off-Road Atlas blog had real potential to drive organic traffic and revenue, but it needed a deliberate SEO strategy behind it to get there. The engagement started with category page optimization, but it became clear quickly that the blog was where the biggest near-term wins were.
The Work
I was the primary day-to-day account contact, managing the client relationship, keeping cross-functional workstreams moving between the agency's SXO specialist and the client's internal content team, and helping shape strategy through ongoing collaboration on both sides.
The work included a full content audit of the Off-Road Atlas, development of two years of content calendars and gap assessments, creation of 64 SEO briefs for net-new articles, and direct production of 26 articles by the agency content team. We built an ecommerce keyword map for category pages and product detail pages and made structural recommendations for those pages as well — though the client wasn't in a position to prioritize that work at the time. The blog is where momentum built, and that's where we focused.
Every brief was built around transactional keyword targeting, connecting content to real purchase intent rather than just traffic volume. We also identified image needs for net-new articles and managed content QA, implementation, and reindexing throughout.
The Result
Blog content rarely drives direct revenue. It drives awareness, engagement, and brand presence — valuable, but hard to tie to a transaction. This engagement was unique.
A single article on portal gear lifts generated 2,394 organic sessions and over $10,000 in organic revenue since publication. A Can-Am maintenance guide published in January 2025 pulled 10,364 organic sessions. A Polaris check engine light how-to drew 10,845 sessions and is still climbing. A seasonal piece on best-selling UTV and ATV brands generated 24,000 clicks through Google Discover in a single month.
On keyword rankings, the results were equally sharp. "Best UTV speakers" moved from position 29 to position 1. "Can-Am vs Polaris" moved from position 41 to position 2. Two additional keywords moved from completely unranked into the first page of results.
The brief was to build content that performed in search. It ended up building content that sold.
